Hammer Kid dances to TV on the Radio, Afrika Bambaataa

This theme has almost run it’s course, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t revisit one of my favorite youtube clips: Chinese MC Hammer.  I’m indifferent about my mashup, but the original video is priceless.  An Asian kid absolutely nails MC Hammer – from the dancing all the way to the pants.  To cap it off, his mom (ostensibly) quietly knits in the background, refusing to acknowledge the absurdity taking place in her living room.  I slowed it down and set it to a Diplo (again, here on a Hollertronix release) mashup of TV on the Radio and Afrika Bambaataa.

John McCain is Grizzly Man

This is one of my first video mashup projects.  Like many of my early mashups, this clip features narration by my favorite heavily-accented German filmmaker, Werner Herzog.  Basically, I slowed down several clips of presidential candidate John McCain and plopped audio from Herzog’s Grizzly Man over top.  It’s not meant to be political, just odd.  The ending actually turned out to be quite haunting and funny.
